Beijing New International Airport Design Submission
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners is the world-renowned architectural practice created
by Richard Rogers. The firm has designed iconic buildings including the Pompidou Centre in Paris,
the Lloyd’s Building in London and the Stirling Prize winning Maggie’s Centre West London.
An executive summary and full technical report were required for this bilingual bid submission.
The subtle gradation from orange to red symbolises good fortune and joy in Chinese culture.
Both colours were used within the reports to help delineate between English and Mandarin.
Extensive circulation diagrams were created, in both languages, detailing the complexity
and scale of this ambitious project.

used widely in the Middle East. The covers were designed to illustrate both the conceptual
and creative design approach to this proposed office building.
